#. 스탠리 큐브릭의 영화 버젼 샤이닝 속편으로 완성되어 오마쥬한 장면들이 많다.

#. 전편 큐브릭의 샤이닝이 스티븐 킹 원작과 다르다는 사실을 모르고 큐브릭의 샤이닝만 보면 장르가 너무 다르다는 오해를 할 수 있다. 큐브릭이 감독한 샤이닝이 원작에서 가장 중요한 요소였던 '샤이닝'의 설정에 집중하기보단 잭의 미쳐 날뛰는 행위에만 집중해서 원작자 스티븐 킹이 못마땅해했다는 이야기는 유명하다. 스티븐 킹 원작의 핵심 주제인 자식에 대한 아버지의 사랑 자체를 완전히 파괴한 것은 감안해야 한다.
